Connoisseur
created Onishi, a trader, has lived a life surrounded by clothes since she was born. Onishi's mother carefully stored and displayed the high-quality custom-made clothes made in Japan left by her grandmother, who had passed away when she was born, as well as matching hats and bags.
Her mother had such a strong passion for fashion that she designed clothes and made them out of cloth and knitwear. Even though she was a child, she felt a longing for clothes that were carefully stored like a museum and could not be touched.
She grew up feeling happy and proud that she was able to meet her grandmother, who she could not meet in person in this world, through clothes that transcend time.
As a result, she have been interested in fashion since she was a child, and now she can understand the material, value, and date of manufacture just by looking at the clothes.
Inheritance of Japanese culture
Japanese people use things carefully and cleanly.
Looking at the many items that were carefully left behind by those who experienced the war, we can see how high-quality items were produced during the period of rapid economic growth after the war, and how excellent they were.
We consider it to be a fine culture of Japan.
We want to convey that to the younger generation of Japan.
And we want to pass down the Showa Vintage®, which is a splendid culture of Japan.
Showa Vintage clothing store was born from such a thought.
Our dream is to build a Showa Vintage® Museum in Ginza.

declaration
Most of the clothes are over 50 years old, so they cannot be completely undamaged.
Some of them are difficult to use as clothes. In that case, our sewing craftsmen use the fabric and carefully turn it into accessories and miscellaneous goods by hand, and wholesale them to retailers such as Seibuen Yuenchi and Kabukiza.
As for clothes that are difficult to introduce at our store, we have continued to make donations in cooperation with the government and NGOs so that they can be distributed to those who need them.
In addition, we also hold classes for adults to make cloth sandals using clothes and classes for children to make crafts with their favorite clothes that have been sized out.
We do not allow disposable clothes.
We promise to use it in an effective way, and contribute to a sustainable society through clothes.

I would like to express my gratitude for starting a movement in the Showa era and enlivening that era.

pop culture
Speaking of pop culture in the Showa era, Twiggy. Twiggy landed at Haneda Airport on October 18, 1967 at the joint invitation of Toyo Rayon, Toyota Motor Sales Co., Ltd., and Morinaga Seika. Over the course of three weeks, she held fashion shows in seven cities, including Tokyo and Osaka, and showed off her miniskirts, causing a boom. It is said that 90% of women who go to town now wear miniskirts.
Extraordinary
In 1970, it was decided that the World Exposition would be held in Osaka, and Taro Okamoto was requested as the producer of the theme exhibition. When Okamoto agreed, he thought, ``I'll make something ridiculous.''
This Japan World Exposition had an impact on various fields, and in 1975, the permanent preservation of the "Tower of the Sun" was decided. Even today, it is loved as a symbol of the Osaka Expo.
